APPLICATIONS
Acier de décolletage, la teneur élevée en soufre facilite la fragmentation des copeaux mais réduit lescaractéristiques mécaniques en sens travers.
La présence de plomb améliore grandement l'usinabilité et la qualité de surface.
Pièces peu sollicitées : visserie, boulonnerie, axes, entretoises, bagues, éléments de fixation...
Soudabilité : déconseillée.

AVERTISSEMENTS
Du fait de l'écrouissage généré par les différentes opérations de transformation à froid, les caractéristiques mécaniques du métal étiré ou tourné galeté, diffèrent de celles du produit laminé. Augmentation de la résistance à la rupture (Rm), augmentation de la limite d'élasticité (Rp 0,2).Diminution de l'allongement (A%), diminution de la résilience (K).
